Online test preparation can be low prep for the teacher, but highly engaging for the students. Today, I am going to share 5 quick ways you can use technology to prepare your students for their standardized test.
Blooket
This is SUCH A FUN gaming experience for the kids. You pick the game and set of questions. Then, the kiddos all face off. They have to answer questions in order to play the game that you choose. You set the amount of time you want to play and then you can just walk around the room doing little mini lessons with students. It is FREE and so much fun!
Kahoot
This game is very similar to Blooket, but you are more in control. This means that after each question you can do a mini lesson with the whole class. It is at the pace of the entire class, instead of at the pace of the individual students. This is great to play when you are wanting to teach while playing.
Google Slides
Slide decks are a great way to review a standard that you have taught and want kids to work more on. Each slide deck has videos, games, test prep activities, and more.

Online Practice Tests
Giving your kiddos some online practice tests is a great way to prepare them for the standardized tests. But let’s be honest, these aren’t super engaging. You could make them more engaging by adding a shoot off aspect to it. Basically, after students answer a certain amount of questions correctly they get a chance to shoot, in a hoop or your trashcan. If they make it they earn a point.
Here are some online test prep sites I have enjoyed!
Choose Your Prep
Here is a free way to allow your students some choice into what test prep they want to do. Assign them this google doc and an amount of time. Tell them they can pick their prep, but they have to work the entire time!Â
I hope these simple ideas will lead to great test preparation this school year!
